L'interesse verso l’architettura e la struttura urbana di Messina si è avviato ormai da tempo, a partire dagli inizi degli anni Ottanta. In quel periodo si sono create le premesse per una serie di ricerche, studi e indagini progettuali che emergevano dalle questioni legate alla formazione della città dello Stretto dopo la ricostruzione avvenuta a seguito del terremoto del 1908.
